Introduction
Xiaoli was originally the name of a Ketagalan tribe settlement, part of Taiwan’s Plains Indigenous People. During the Qing Dynasty, Han settlers migrated here, and the Ketagalan tribe collaboratively constructed the Xiaoli Main Canal and pooled stream water into Xiaoli Pond to irrigate the area's rice fields. This is the earliest pond in Xiaoli and the source of the Xiaoli Lateral Canal. To reach the pond (also known as Xiaoli Pond), take the Daxi Interchange on National Highway 3, head towards the Nanxing connecting road, turn left at Section 2 of Renhe Road, and continue on Longnan Road. The journey is approximately 3 kilometers. The pond covers an area of about 6.1246 hectares and sits at the intersection of Daxi, Pingzhen, and Bade districts. It is currently under the jurisdiction of the Bade Workstation of the Shihmen Management Office.
